The Pune airport retail master concession was awarded to M/s Refex Retail. A brand new airport terminal is under construction which shall be operationalized upon the inauguration by the Hon prime Minsister of India. A total retail area of 1206 sq mtrs shall be handed over to the concessionaire in two phases. Phase 1 shall see a handover of 831 sq mtrs and the phase 2 shall be 375 sq mtrs.
The retail master concessionaire m/s Refex Retail has been very active in inviting over 250 global and national brands to set up their presence at the Pune airport. There have been over 20 sessions of road show during which CEO’s, president’s and other senior officials of the brands have had a preview and walk through of the retail spaces on offer. A specialized retail layout design agency has been engaged to create a passenger friendly retail layout.
Out of the over 250 brands who have taken a walk through of the new terminal retail spaces, there is a competition to sign up for the super premium, premium and luxury retail spaces. The area on offer being only 831 sq mtrs in phase 1 for a 10 Mn passenger number seems to be the smallest area per Mn pax on offer at any of the Master concessioned airports in India. The rush for space shall end by Nov 23 end when the various brands will start their outlets execution on and off site.
